I have never given a very serious thought to what motivates me but I think in my career I always look for at least two things out of three which are really important to me for professional achievement. The three things are
- Money
- Challenging work
- Position
Money is how much bottom line money I am taking home.
If I am getting at least two of the above mentioned things I remain motivated. The moment I get only 1 thing I am not motivated and I usually change what I doing. I have been following these guidelines for over 8 years now and is working out good for me.
For normal day to day work I am not looking for any motivation from my manager or boss.
