SAP IS Retail & Cannibalisation effect

The SAP ERP Solution can help determine the cannibalization effect.  You select a product group or brand name using a node of the product hierarchy. In addition, you have to specify a time period of several calendar weeks. It is useful, but not mandatory, to limit the query to one customer, one customer group or a sales region.  Then the total invoiced sales for a product are displayed on a weekly basis. These are broken down by sales deal. An undefined sales deal in this context corresponds to normal business. By analyzing the results over time, you can determine whether normal business has suffered due to a sales deal.  Additionally, the information from SAP can be downloaded into excel spreadsheet to complete detailed price elasticity analysis. Additional information may be required for determining cannibalization scenarios in detail. This information will be gathered during the blueprinting stage.                            The SAP ERP Solution allows of both retail promotions (for sales to anonymous consumers) and wholesale promotions (with special prices for known customers in your customer master data). Promotions are planned at company level with data being downloaded to various sites at the appropriate time. The POS solution must have the ability to work with the different types of promotions the ERP system can send. The exact scope of a promotion and the results you expect to achieve can be carefully planned in advance.             The planned sales - both for the promotion as a whole and for individual articles - can be planned with key figures such as purchase price, sales price, merchandise quantity, and logistics units (for example, pallets), and then compared with previous promotions.
