Historically world has seen a penetration of American culture in rest of the world, especially now a days with American companies going Global with full force now (they were earlier also). In other countries like India, China and Middle East people say that their culture has been Americanized. I think it is important to understand the Americanization of other cultures and non-Americanization of American culture to answer the questions. I just came up with that term.  Based on some conversations that I had with some of the people that I work with, this is what they say “the global economy makes it more important than ever for all of us to understand people who are different than ourselves” and I think this makes perfect sense also and American companies are now giving more emphasis to Cultural diversity than ever. So, I guess if this trend continues what we call an American culture will actually will be a mix of cultures from different countries and nations.  

Of course there are technological changes at the speed of light but those have always been there, when Ford first came up with the idea of mass production of cars or when telephone came for public use or when light bulb was invented, BUT what is happening now is slightly different. The world is becoming Flat and so is American culture.
